Tim and Richard Hill's journey in motorsport traces back to the early 1970s, when their father, Mike Hill, sponsored Russell Brookes in the Escort Mexico challenge. Mike, then Chairman & Managing Director of Brooklyn Garages, propelled Russell Brookes into a works drive with Ford as Brooklyn transitioned to larger premises in Redditch. Tim and Richard eventually joined their father in the Ford business, evolving to proudly become the title sponsors of the three Shires Stages in 2021 and the renaming of the event to the Hills Ford Stages.
Their motorsport involvement expanded in 1983 when Ford approached Brooklyn to build a Ford Escort RS1600i for the Trimoco Touring Car championship. Tim played a significant role in these builds while Richard assisted during nights and weekends. Over the years, the team worked on various projects, including the Sierra Cosworth, which clinched championships and competed in the British Rally Championship.
Between 2017 and 2019, the Hills Rally team participated in various national events, achieving notable successes such as winning their class in the Motorsport News Rockingham Stages Rally and competing in Belgium's Ypres Rally. The team's dedication continued into 2020 and beyond, facing challenges like electronic issues and car incidents while continually pushing forward.
In 2022, the team welcomed a new addition, the M-Sport-prepared Fiesta Rally 3, showcasing their commitment to progress and advancement in the sport. The team's achievements continued into 2023, with Will and Richard Crozier securing an impressive 4th Overall in the Protyre Asphalt championship.
Throughout their journey, Tim and Richard Hill have exemplified resilience, passion, and dedication to the sport of rallying, leaving an indelible mark on the motorsport community.
